  • Dr. Steve Paragioudakis, MD, is an esteemed physician specializing in orthopaedic surgery. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Orthopedic Residency Program at Monmouth Medical Center. Founded in 1945, the program is the oldest residency program in New Jersey. In his role, Dr. Paragioudakis leads and guides residents in receiving clinical training, academic instruction, and active research programs. He lends his expertise to help develop innovative orthopaedic techniques that prepare residents for fellowship training. As an accomplished practitioner and academic, Dr. Paragioudakis began his academic journey by attending Johns Hopkins University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree. Afterwards, he joined the School of Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) at Rutgers, where he earned his medical degree. He then completed an internship and residency program at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Department of Orthopaedics. Dr. Paragioudakis has two spine surgery fellowships under his belt. First, he completed his first spine fellowship at the University of Stanford in Palo Alto and the second at the St. Mary’s Program in San Francisco. His areas of excellence include minimally invasive spine surgery, robotic spine surgery, revision spine surgery, and SI pain solutions. His techniques have revolutionized spinal surgery, increasing positive outcomes and decreasing recovery time. This results in better results and reduced pain for many of his patients. Throughout his career, Dr. Paragioudakis has been renowned for his research and surgical practice for over three decades. In 2000, his published clinical science paper on low back pain research won the International Volvo Award for Low Back Pain Research.
